South East Cape

South East Cape is in Tasmania.  It is the southern most tip of Australia and usually attracts attention for that reason alone.  For those who come here frequently though South East Cape is much more than that.   Not just a photo, not even a place, but a whole experience instead. 

It is often loud, an ocean of noise and cold come up from Antarctica.  It rains a lot.  It is windy most of the time.  South East Cape is difficult to get to.  There are kilometers of poorly graded gravel road and then there is a two / three hour walk in to see it at all.  If it wasn’t any of these things there would be great big houses lording over the bay and South East Cape would be a view, looked at through a window.
